he London Chapter

The London Chapter, common name for the secret covenant of Domus Optimus. A secret held only in denial by official channels. The truth, however, is quite different. For years, Magi of The London Chapter have made it their driving goal to become a subtle yet indispensible force in the machinary of the city.

Our troupe has run the gamut in two previous sagas. They can be found here:
Pax Hermeticus & The Door. Also, a sister covenant is forming: Aibhnean Geard

Current Affairs
Sergio Esperanza, rogue captain and Magus of dubious aspect, returns to the Covenant with an absurd proposal; to kill him and collect the considerable bounty offered by the Kingdom of Castile for his capture.

The Basic Map of London

A Summary Of Events To Date
Chapter One

Shortly after arriving, and making the new covenant their home, the troupe is sent, en masse , to Osterid, and then to Chateau Verron to oust a fugitive Jerbiton who has been impersonating an unpopular Duke for several years. They are told that it is a Wizard’s March, and that they are to bring the Jerbiton, Calastan, to overdue justice. They are also encouraged personally by Empericus, in no uncertain terms, to consider his demise before he ever makes it to trial.

Chapter Two

Captain Amory is called upon to solve the identity of an arsonist terrorizing the streets of London. With the help of Edgard, it is determined that an old tanner’s widow is the culprit. Further, there is a possible infernal influence guiding her misbegotten ways.

Chapter Three

A cavelier sea captain, who is also a Magus Ex Miscellanea, tries unsuccessfully to enlist the young Magi to accompany him on a treasure hunt in the far north lands.

Chapter Four

Claire Radsworth befriends a traveling Countess while she stops over in London. When the Countess is waylaid by assassins, she turns to Claire for aide. Ever eager to help a damsel in distress, Captain Amory comes to the rescue.

Chapter Five

Percivale Fellingsforth is sent to Court in Westminster to route out a probable charlatan who is claiming to be a member of the Order. It is evident from the onset, that his first mission is a test of loyalties to Empericus, his Sodalis, The Order, and his pride. The path is not clear.

Chapter Six

Guy LeFleur is sent by Empericus to observe a play with a most interesting climax. Near the final scenes, a young actress falls to her death on-stage. What unravels thereafter is that her fall was no accident, but a deliberately wagered move to find a sacrificial lamb.

Chapter Seven

Pearyn travels to Ireland, and the mounds of Newgrange outside of Drogheda to collect Vis from the Ancient Kings of Ireland.

-----
Tribunal has been volatile, and contentious. Superceding any decisions, an attack on the Tribunal by Llewellan of the Covenant Losarious have prompted the hastening of the planned Wizard’s March.

-----
Chapter Thirteen
Guy has been invited to another Ritual beneath the Swann Theater. But things do not go as planned, and now the Masters are trying to unravel the mystery of this little cult.

The Story of Our Formation
Following the departure of all but one of the Covenants last chartered members, Domus Optimus is re-appointed by a judicial committee, much to the chagrin of its resident Tremere and self-ordained Master of the House, Empericus. In the decision, two Flambeau, and two Jerbiton are chosen, with a Mercere to balance the sides that are assumed will be taken.
When one of the Flambeaus dies rather early, he is replaced by a thrid Jerbiton.

While Empericus has no choice as to who is placed in his home, there are stipulations upon which he is counting. Chiefly, that a period of two years has been set as a probation time in which the new members must prove themselves worthy of the appointment. Empericus himself has weight in that decision, and he is not shy in declaring his intent to use it. A second boon to the beleaguered patron, is the fact that he holds the sigils of his five apprentices, and thereby may vote at council with them, giving him six votes in all. If the others choose to oppose his will, he can simply outvote them, and carry on as he wishes.

In the few short months of their time there, the young probates have little doubt that Empericus has no difficulty in doing so. What is to be done about it, remains to be seen.
